Driving and parking in the Principality
Is parking a problem?
Monaco is dense and its underground car parks fill quickly in high season. That is exactly why we deliver and collect the car at your address: you have no space to find on arrival and none to give up when you leave.
What happens during the Grand Prix?
In early June, part of the Principality is closed to traffic for the circuit. Deliveries then happen outside the perimeter and transfers leave earlier. We plan it with you when you book, not the day before.
How far ahead should you book?
For the Grand Prix in early June and the Yacht Show in September, allow several months: that is when the good cars and the good chauffeurs go first. The rest of the year, a few days is usually enough.
Do you also come from Nice and Cannes?
Yes. Our fleet is based on the French Riviera, and Monaco is around thirty minutes from Nice, about an hour from Cannes depending on traffic. A car can be delivered to you in Monaco in the morning and collected in Cannes in the evening.
Getting around the Principality
Monaco fits into two square kilometres and is walked faster than people expect, public lifts included. The car is mostly there to get you out: the middle corniche towards Èze, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat for lunch, Menton and the Italian border twenty minutes away. That is precisely the use a delivered and collected car is made for, rather than one sitting three days in a car park.
For appointments in town, a chauffeur on standby stays the simplest answer. You step out at the door, he parks on his own and comes back when you call.
The weeks when the Principality changes pace
The Grand Prix, in early June, transforms the city: the circuit closed to traffic, hotels full for months, last minute requests impossible to honour. The Yacht Show, in late September, does the same to the port and to the chauffeurs. Between the two, May and June remain the best months at sea.
Outside those periods Monaco is surprisingly easy, and Riviera rates are nowhere near their high season level.
Around Monaco
Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, Menton, Èze, Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and Villefranche form a circle where nothing takes more than thirty minutes. Nice and its airport are half an hour away, Cannes about an hour, Ventimiglia and Italy twenty minutes.
